Poop Yard

Almost done with the poop yard project. Spyder has more pics here. The old body is sore just about everywhere. You want an upper body work-out? Masonry is for you. Each blocks weighs about 13 pounds, and you have to shove and adjust each one to get it at the right height and so there are no voids beneath the block. This project comes in at around 300 blocks and 25 bags of sand. There's also some gravel for the course that goes up against the house, which I will lay this morning. After that, I'm going to edge the patio in 1x2 treated lumber to keep the edge blocks locked in.

If it wasn't just a poop yard I would have rented a compacter and excavated for a proper base--and it would not be anywhere near finished. I imagine that I'll have some heaving this winter and some blocks to reset in spring, but that's then. I'm worn the hell out now.

Update: And how could I forget to mention that Dr. Ken, (who is single and now lives in the area, ladies) stopped by and gave a full afternoon to the project. The upper right quarter is his work. Thanks, Dr. Ken!

Nice work man.

Missed you last night, but I get the career thing. In fact your wife told us all about your certification (ask her, it's priceless).
